Our Nordlys IPL machine offers unique IPL with narrowband technology defined by dual filters and sub-millisecond pulses for exceptional skin rejuvenation by treating vascular and pigmented lesions. It is a safe, fast, non-surgical treatment solution for a variety of such skin conditions for both men and women. It is also very effective in reducing and controlling active acne along with associated inflamed skin.

How does it work?

Nordlys utilises the latest advance in Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology. The effective and safe treatment uses short, controlled pulses of filtered light energy to target the appropriate structures within the skin, to reduce imperfections and improve skin texture and tone.

Treatment Plan

After a consultation with your therapist a comprehensive treatment plan will be devised to give you the best outcome for your needs.

The area to be treated will be thoroughly cleansed, the Nordlys handpiece will be placed onto your skin and a series of light pulses will treat the area. Treatments are reviewed continuously to assess their effectiveness and settings are adjusted to ensure the best results are achieved.

Results

What does it treat?

Skin Rejuvenation –

Fine Lines and Wrinkles.

Collagen is the substance produced by our bodies that keeps our skin looking youthful & Smooth. As we age and after prolonged sun exposure, our bodies naturally produce less and less collagen, resulting in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The light from Nordlys stimulates cells in the body called fibroblasts to produce more collagen. The new collagen moves outwards to the skins surface resulting in a smoother texture, smaller pore size and reduced fine lines and wrinkles.

Pigmented Lesions –

Sun Damage, Age Spots, Uneven pigmentation, Freckles.

The Nordlys treatment utilizes advanced technology to improve the appearance of photo rejuvenation. These are conditions which usually appear in later years on the skins surface. They can appear on the face and body. They are all caused by an excess production of melanin, the pigment which determines our hair and skin colour. During treatment, the melanin absorbs the light energy from Nordlys and heats up quickly, whilst the surrounding skin remains cool. The heat causes the particles of melanin to break up and subsequently be removed by the body’s natural waste processes, leaving skin clear and smooth. Treatments are most efficient on patients with light skin who are not suntanned at the time of treatment.

After treatment your skin may benefit from applying a cold compress to your face and the application of Aloe Vera is recommended to sooth the area. Sun exposure should be avoided for 30days after treatment.

You may notice a sloughing off of some skin and darkening of pigmented spots for a few days following treatment. After that you will find your skin looks smoother and fresher.

Acne Management –

The Nordlys treatment utilizes advanced technology to improve the appearance of acne.

Acne is caused by excess sebum (an oil produced by the body) which, together with dead skin cells, clogs up pores and become a breathing ground for bacteria, thus causing irritation. The Nordlys system treats acne by reducing the blood supply to the sebaceous gland to slow down the production of sebum. The system delivers short, safe burst of IPL directed at the skin. Using patented Dual Mode Filtering technology, the system filters the light to ensure that only the wavelengths necessary for treatment are used. Because of this, only the blood vessels that supply the sebaceous gland are impacted, while the surrounding vessels are not affected.

Nordlys IPL technology can improve the appearance of acne red macules, irregular pigmentation and skin tone.

No topical anesthetics are required, and many patients describe the treatment like the flick of a rubber band, followed by a sensation similar to the feeling of gentle warmth.

Vascular Lesions –

Generally, vascular lesions are collections of dense, small blood vessels that are located in and below the skin.  They can appear anywhere on the body, and can be caused by sun damage, genetic factors, rosacea or ageing. Vascular lesions can make you self-conscious about your appearance and leave you feeling less self-assured. It doesn’t have to be this way. You can regain your confidence with an easy Nordlys treatment.

The number of treatments required depends on the location and the number of vessels to be treated. Smaller vessels can disappear immediately after treatment, larger ones face away more gradually over the next few weeks.

Patients experience low downtime, some swelling and redness, which disappears after 1-4days.
